Catherine Andrews
Catherine Andrews is a Calgary family lawyer known for out-of-the-box, cost-effective solutions. Her trauma-informed, client-centred approach to family law has been shaped by her experience advocating for families and vulnerable populations across Canada. Passionate about addressing clients’ unique family law challenges, she strives to provide tailored support—considering where her clients are currently and where they aspire to be.
Empowering Advocate for Vulnerable Clients
Born and raised in the United Kingdom, Catherine earned her Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto, Ontario. It was during this time that she had the opportunity to work with the Barbra Schlifer Commemorative Clinic in Toronto, focused on providing legal support and services to abused and vulnerable women. This formative experience deepened her commitment to supporting families, especially during acute periods characterized by challenges such as vulnerable children, financial instability, and safety concerns.
Catherine further refined her legal expertise at a boutique family law firm where she assisted clients with diverse family law matters, including child protection and cases involving Indigenous clients and other at-risk groups. Her work focused on individuals facing abuse, neglect, and severe adversity, enhancing her ability to navigate complex emotional, mental, and spiritual issues. Catherine also has litigation experience and has represented clients at all levels of court in addition to drafting wills and powers of attorney.
Catherine can help clients with a range of family and estate planning issues, including:
- Wills, including mirrored wills for couples
- Powers of attorney
- Personal directives
- Divorce and separation
- Guardianship and decision-making
- Child custody and parenting time

The Right Approach for Each Client
Catherine is passionate about catering her legal services to her clients, ensuring they are supported and empowered every step of the way. She is dedicated to crafting innovative solutions that prioritize her client’s safety and security, while considering their legal, financial, and emotional needs such that the legal process remains accessible and resolution focused.
Catherine firmly believes that most family law matters can be resolved amicably, seeking out opportunities to minimize her client’s exposure to the often-combative justice system wherever possible. An advocate for alternative dispute resolution processes as a means to reduce costs, save time, and lessen emotional distress, Catherine has successfully assisted clients through the mediation and arbitration process.
Outside of the office, Catherine is a strong proponent of self-care and maintaining balance in our hectic lives. She is a lifelong tourist and traveler, deeply engaged with world history and culture, and a passionate student of both film and music history.
I was very happy with the services I received from Crossroads Law. They were very professional and courteous. I would highly recommend them to friends and family who need family law advice or representation.
