Financial options and billing queries
Are there any financing options to help if I need support to fund my litigation?
While Crossroads Law doesn't directly offer client financing, we acknowledge that legal proceedings can be financially taxing, and you may need support to fund your litigation. Some specialized financial service providers, such as BridgePoint Financial, offer litigation funding options.
*Please note that Crossroads Law does not receive any commissions, incentives, or otherwise from BridgePoint Financial. If you choose to pursue funding with BridgePoint Financial, you do so at your own risk and discretion. Crossroads Law is not responsible for any dissatisfaction or financial issues that may arise out of your relationship with BridgePoint Financial. We strongly suggest that you independently assess the merits, risks, and conditions of using any litigation funding service and, if necessary, consult with a financial advisor before making any commitments.
Can I request an estimate of the total cost of my case in advance?
Yes, you can request an estimate for the total cost of your case. However, it is important to understand that such estimates are inherently uncertain due to the dynamic and unpredictable nature of legal proceedings. Although our lawyers can provide an informed perspective based on their experience, legal knowledge, and analysis of historical cases, every case is unique and unexpected developments can arise that may alter the path to resolution.
Furthermore, the costs are less predictable when the case proceeds to court or arbitration. As such, while we strive to provide accurate estimates, they are never guaranteed.
How do I know what services I am being billed for?
To keep you informed about the services you are being billed for, Crossroads Law provides a Statement of Account each month or upon the completion of a significant task, particularly in instances where you've retained the lawyer under a flat rate, unbundled legal services, or legal coaching agreement. The Statement of Account provides a comprehensive, item-by-item summary of all the work done on your case, including a detailed breakdown of the time spent, recorded in 6-minute increments (displayed on your bill as 0.1 of an hour).
Transparency is vital in our professional relationship. If you have any questions about your Statement of Account or the charges therein, we encourage you to contact us directly.
How often will I be billed?
Accounts are rendered monthly and are payable on the date the account is rendered.
